Scatter is a new initiative exploring collaborative curatorial practice. It aims to create a space for critical debate to occur, encouraging experimentation within a curatorial approach and exploring through live projects new methods of working.

ScatterProjects07 is a 6-month collaborative project consisting of a 12 person curatorial working group, involving 6 final year BA Multimedia students (of which I am one), Jen Southern, artist and lecturer at the University of Huddersfield, Clare Danek, creative programme director at Huddersfield Media Centre, and Karen Gaskill, Scatter.

The project is being hosted by Huddersfield Media Centre, and is inviting 7 contemporary media artists to show their work as part of a collective show. The works differ is media and scope, and have been selected through a nominations based process. All of the works reference a strong association to space, both physical and virtual, and explore through either their content or context the associated or perceived value of this space.

The project is supported by Huddersfield Media Centre and the University of Huddersfield.
